Dublin Localization Unconference 2019 - Main Event
Event Information
Description
Let the Dublin Localization Unconference 2019 begin!
This is where we come together to raise burning questions and discuss hot topics in the Localization industry.
If you've never been to an unconference before, here are some key points:
- Unconferences are participant-driven.
- There is no preset agenda.
- Topics are decided on the day, usually via Slido which helps submit and upvote questions or topics in a very dynamic way.
The basic unconference rules are:
- No selling. We leave our job at the door and let our passion fuel the discussion.
- Vote with your feet. If you don't enjoy a session, why not stand up and join another discussion?
- Come with an open mind. Energy levels may rise and drop, an unconference may feel disorganised but it is really unique, you make it so!
We look forward to a day of fruitful conversations!
Special thanks to Nathalie and the team at Talent Garden for hosting the event.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions that are not covered by the FAQs below.
See you all soon in Dublin's fair city!

FAQs
I can't make the meet & greet session the evening before, can I still attend the Unconference?
Of course! This is the main event, please do register even if you can't make the evening before.
Are breakfast and lunch provided?
The event is free to attend but food and drinks are not included (unless we get sponsorship in which case you'll be the first to hear). There is a lovely café in Talent Garden that serves a wide range of hot and cold food, Italian style. We can enjoy our coffee and lunch breaks in the café or the Community Space (pictured above). We can then finish earlier after a long day of brainstorming and exchange... and head out to the local pub together to celebrate!
What are my transport options for getting to and from the event?
The best option is to catch the bus. Talent Garden is a 10min walk from the National Botanic Gardens. Check out dublinbus.ie for the best route.
Is there parking?
Yes! Spaces outside Talent Garden are limited though, so you may not find a space when you get there. There is plenty of free parking all along Griffith Avenue (it's a very long residential avenue) and it's a short walk to Talent Garden. See the map here highlighting where parking is available.
