EAPC Public Health Research in Palliative Care
Event Information
About this Event
This international seminar - postponed to 17 and 18 November 2020 and moving online - is being organised by All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care (AIIHPC), EAPC Research Network and EAPC Reference Group on Public Health and Palliative Care.
The theme of the seminar - Public Health Research in Palliative Care: Towards Solutions for Global Challenges - is ever more relevant in the context of the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic. The pandemic is one of the most significant public health crises any of us will experience, affecting every part of our lives. As society and communities respond to the pandemic, the seminar will be a key opportunity for researchers, policy makers, hospice and palliative care providers, and people with palliative care needs, to come together to discuss public health palliative care research and consider this in the pandemic context.
The interactive online programme, focusing on public health palliative care research, will be delivered over Tuesday 17 November and Wednesday 18 November 2020. The programme will be delivered at various time slots over these two dates (rather than two full days online). Speakers and accepted abstract authors will have the opportunity to share, exchange and debate their research findings with other researchers, policy makers, clinicians, service users and carers to maximise the impact of their work and inform further research. In addition, an online platform is being created which will house all invited speakers’ pre-recorded presentations and accepted abstracts, which will be available for delegates to view prior to and following the research seminar.
