DUBLIN CONNOLLY - SKERRIES UP PLATFORM - SKERRIES LOOP - UP ROAD TO BALBRIGGAN - DROGHEDA - DUNDALK (REVERSE) - DUBLIN CONNOLLY (REVERSE + LOCO CHANGE) - PORTARLINGTON - ATHLONE - GALWAY (REVERSE) - ATHLONE - PORTARLINGTON - DUBLIN CONNOLLY.

The latest diesel railtour to raise funds for the restoration of locomotive B134 will run on Saturday 4th of April 2020. The 'East-West' is scheduled to depart from Dublin (Connolly) at 08.20 and head north from the capital operating via the running loop in Skerries and the bi-directional line to Balbriggan.

There will be a passenger pick up stop in Drogheda and then on to Dundalk. Here the loco will run around before heading back south again to Dublin. Along the way there will be some photo stops in Laytown and Skerries. A loco change has been requested in Dublin before the train once again sets off (Dep.11:50), this time heading west to Galway (Approximately 15:15).

There will be a number of photo stops along the route and a break of 1.5 hours in Galway. A swift return to Dublin (Approximately 16:45) will have the train back in Dublin for 19.45. It is requested that motive power on the day will be from the 071 fleet.

As with previous diesel railtours this one is sure to very popular and will sell out quickly so don't delay and get your booking in as soon as possible.

This will be a FULL day out (timings to be confirmed). We are not guaranteeing any connections on the same day into or out of the tour for ferries, flights, train or bus services out of Dublin.

All funds raised by this trip will be going directly to the restoration of GM 121 class 134, currently under overhaul in Inchicore Works. We are hoping to see her and the 141 class hauling our future RPSI diesel tours. As with all our tours, we will have a full bar available throughout the day serving draught Guinness, O'Hara's as well as a wide range of spirits, wines and bottled beers. We will also have our snack car serving breakfast baps, sandwiches and burgers along with tea and filter coffee.

Please note that the outline times shown are subject to change until paths are finalised with Irish Rail.
