Description

The 'Challenge of Change' is the theme for our 2018 event. Over the course of the next 12 months, accountants will be faced with many compulsory regulation changes including GDPR - the EU General Data Protection Regulation, PAYE Modernisation, the upcoming introduction of mandatory SORP reporting for Charities and legislative updates. (5 hours CPD).

It is vital for accountants in practice to keep up to date with all of these impending changes. The aim of this event is to provide you with the necessary information to enable you to become compliant. It is essential that Managing Partners, Senior Managers as well as accountants do not miss out on this opportunity.

GDPR - Dara Keogh CEO GeoDirectory MBA UCD, BSc(Hons) Economics U of London, BSc (Hons) IT DCU

Dara Keogh has been five years at the helm of the innovative technology company GeoDirectory, this has given him the opportunity to develop and improve people, technology, policies and business strategy. GeoDirectory are suppliers to local government bodies, businesses nationally and internationally including some of Ireland's Blue Chip companies, Ambulance Services through to Pizza Delivery companies. As well as preparing GeoDirectory for GDPR he has also been conducting market research on companies and organisations in other EU countries and their approach and preparedness for GDPR.

PAYE Modernisation - Sinead Sweeney

Sinead Sweeney is the Change and Communications Manager for the PAYE modernisation project. Sinead is a qualified Revenue professional with over 20 years tax experience. Prior to this role Sinead was the PREM audit manager for LCD with responsibility for audit and compliance across the division. She has extensive experience across diverse functions within the Revenue organisation.

Charities SORP - Marguarita Martin, Deloitte - Director, FCA, BA Accounting & Finance

Head of Not for Profit Audit & Assurance Services, with over 17 years’ experience serving this sector. She has particular experience of providing value add to those charged with governance in state funded organisations and also those in a voluntary capacity. Marguarita has significant experience reporting to the Boards and Audit Committees of large national and international charities and has deep knowledge of the Charities SORP and FRS102. She has served as a committee member of Chartered Accountants Ireland Charity and Not for Profit Group.

Business Innovation & Technology - Adrian Weckler

Adrian Weckler, Group Technology Editor Irish and Sunday Independent, Ireland’s most recognised commentator on how technology is changing our lives, both at work and beyond. As Technology Editor of both The Irish Independent and The Sunday Independent, he has risen to become the country’s most senior journalist in the sector, regularly appearing on national and international television and radio shows to interpret new trends.
He is also the host of Ireland’s most listened-to technology podcast, The Big Tech Show. Adrian is currently the holder of the the Smurfit Business Journalism award, Ireland’s most prestigious business media accolade. He is a multiple winner of other honours, including the Irish Internet Association's Net Visionary award and the David Manley Media Award.

Yes, please print off your ticket and bring it with you on the day to gain entry.

Yes, we will accept a different name on the ticket. Please bear in mind that if we are not informed of a change in name, we will not have a printed name tag for the new attendee on the day.
