About this event
Gráinne Mulvey: Great Women (world première)
Recorded at St Patrick’s Hall, State Apartments, Dublin Castle
The new liveried Dublin International Chamber Music Festival is proud to present the world première of Gráinne Mulvey’s Great Women, a work specially commissioned by the Festival and filmed by director John Comiskey, with funds from The Arts Council and which has given our second day its focus on women performers and composers.
Performed by soprano Elizabeth Hilliard, a champion of the composer’s work, Great Women is a celebration of the strong, remarkable Irish women who have helped shape the social and political landscape through their striving for equality and liberation. Amongst those whose words are set are pioneering patriots, Countess Markievicz and Rosie Hackett, alongside such equally inspiring contemporary figures as our former Presidents Mary Robinson and Mary McAleese.
You'll be able to enjoy the concert via the Eventbrite event page from 9pm (IST) on Friday 18th June. Before 9pm the concert will be invisible - after that it will be there for you to enjoy until midnight (IST) on Sunday 27th June. You’ll need an Eventbrite account to log in, connected with the email address you used to book your ticket. If you don’t have one, it’s very quick to create using your email address.
