Description / Aim :
Student engagement within Higher Education is evolving, which has been accelerated by Covid-19 and the resulting prevalence of hybrid learning environments.
This increase in virtual learning activity provides avenues for expansion of engagement analytics due to greater availability of learner data. However, it can be a challenge to recalibrate existing intervention frameworks to fit a fundamentally different environment than they were initially designed for.
Consequently, the ‘Live Engagement & Attendance Project’ (LEAP) seeks to create an analytics framework which provides Advisors with real-time programme-level student engagement data. This allows pastoral support staff to conduct timely student interventions in instances of potential disengagement.
The purpose of this activity is twofold: helping staff create additional pathways for digital mediation in virtual environments, while also attaining a wider picture of the student experience than would traditionally be available within silos of module-specific engagement insights.
This webinar aims to share:
-UCD LEAP’s longitudinal impact from 2019-2022 on the student experience
-Key research findings
-An outline of the growth and evolution of student support interventions
