Make the most of your Transition Year by participating in this exciting one-week Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation Camp at the University of Limerick to unlock your creativity and innovative skills.

Students will engage in idea generation, design thinking and obtain hands-on experience of applying learning in a practical real world environment using business, science, engineering and sports challenges. The Camp is run in an interactive, fun, teamworking learning environment.


October 22nd - 26th 2018 inclusive

Who is this for?

Transition year students who are enthusiastic, motivated and want to learn more about creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation. This camp is a wonderful opportunity for young students to gain valuable practical experiences of exploring new commercial propositions in a friendly, supportive and enjoyable environment. The participants do not have to be currently studying business related disciplines.

Duration and Costs:

The Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation Camp will be held on campus at University of Limerick, October 22nd-26th 2018 from 9.30am-4pm Mon - Thur and 9.30am-3.30pm on Friday.

The camp is FREE for students from DEIS schools and there is a charge of €50 per participant from all other schools.

Why participate?

This camp is for young people who want to:

  • Develop a creative mind-set in how to ideate, develop and pitch new business ideas

  • Understand and learn the basic essence of opportunity search, creation and evaluation for new products, services and markets

  • Imagine innovative solutions to address them through creative problem solving techniques

  • Use their knowledge in a new and entrepreneurial setting

  • Develop creativity, design thinking and innovation skills

Delivery and Learning Approaches

  • Learn by doing - apply what you learn in class to real challenges

  • Meet and learn from guest speakers in a fun and energetic environment

  • Learn from entrepreneurs who work at Nexus Innovation Centre

  • Tour of UL, design labs, sports arena and vistis to local companies

Closing date for applications is Friday 12th October 2018 and more information is available by contacting or Places are limited so early booking is essential. A panel will adjudicate all applications and allocate places on the basis of why the student wishes to participate. The judges decision is final. All applicants will be notified as to whether or not they have received a place. Canvassing will disqualify.
