Description

Please note that this is not an open event and an invitation is required.

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work hereby invites you to the expert workshop “The value of occupational safety and health (OSH): Estimating the societal costs of work-related injuries and diseases”, 10-11 October 2019, at EU-OSHA Bilbao.

The workshop is organised as a follow-up of the EU-OSHA activity focusing on the costs and benefits of OSH. For more information about the project, please find our recently published report. The report has been consulted with the EU-OSHA FOP already in January 2019 and is now being promoted starting first of August 2019.

The meeting will include presentations from the authors of the report giving the participants an opportunity to share their experiences and views on the topic. Presentations of cost estimation projects in various member states can serve as practical examples for those countries interested in doing their own estimations. Further international organisations, such as WHO, ILO and ICOH will give an outlook on the improvement of international work-related burden estimations. We will discuss the practical relevance of the research at policy and workplace level and how it could be used to promote OSH in the EU member states.
