About Andrew;Andrew is the former CEO of Engineers Without Borders – UK. He co-founded and serves as a Trustee of the Humanitarian Centre in Cambridge. Andrew is also a Trustee of RedR-UK. He has worked as a consultant for the UN and the World Federation of Engineering Organizations and has also been a regular contributor on engineering issues to various media outlets including the BBC, Independent, Times, Guardian and Ingenia magazine.

When Andrew stood down as Chief Executive of EWB-UK, he got involved in Field Ready and the global maker movement. Andrew brings stories from Haiti, Nepal, Turkey, Syria, Kenya, Myanmar and the United Nations – stories about Nepali entrepreneurs and massive aid agencies, start-ups and the status quo, university students and giant corporations, and a new kind of future where ‘mass production’ is going to be disrupted by ‘production by the masses’. He’ll talk about 3D Printing, Makers, Blockchain and business models – and what it could mean for developing and disaster affected countries in the next few years.

About Field Ready;Field Ready meets humanitarian and reconstruction aid needs by transforming logistics through technology, design and engaging people in new ways. They make useful items where they are needed to solve problems locally. They pass on these skills to others through training and capacity-building. Field Ready are pioneering innovative approaches to the toughest challenges regardless of the sector. The impact of this is dramatically improved efficiency making aid faster, cheaper and better.
