A tailored exercise programme targeting issues that arise for women during the menopause transition
Main issues:The loss of oestrogen & progesterone during the menopause transition can lead to the following aspects:
Weight gain particularly visceral fat
Loss of Muscle MassLoss of Bone Density
increased risk of osteoporosis
Increased risk of heart disease
Decreased sleep quality Loss of self-esteem & confidence
Exercise programmes that incorporate cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength & endurance, core strength and flexibility have been proven by research to improve many aspects of the above issues
-6 week programme starting Monday May 9th excluding bank holiday ( May 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th & June 13th and 20th)
-Monday nights 7.00-8.00p.m
-The programme will be delivered by Grace from Westmeath Sports Partnership and My Wellness Transition
-Aimed at adult women going through Peri-Menopause and Menopause
-The programme will consist of four exercise sessions and two Nutrition workshops
-Please bring a bottle of water
