Exploring legends and myths from our culture through storytelling, drama and art for 12-18 year olds

About this event

Theatre Workshop: Exploring legends and myths from our culture through storytelling, drama and art,

Storytelling is one of the simplest and most compelling forms of dramatic and imaginative activity which enables young people to create and recreate imagined worlds together.

Exploring the heroes, villains, gods, goddesses and creatures from important myths and legends from their own cultural backgrounds, young people will gather to share and celebrate stories in a theatre workshop involving storytelling, drama and art.

This theatre workshop is a cultural exchange between young people aged 12-18 from ethnic minority backgrounds including young people living in Direct Provision and young people from the Irish community.

Leading the cultural exchange, the young people will decide on the stories shared, create performances, and paint a visual response as a backdrop to performances. This workshop is facilitated by drama teacher and writer Eve Li and artist Leanne McLaughlin.
