About this event
Walk in My Shoes (WIMS) is delighted to host a live online event to explore different roles and career paths in the area of mental health on Wednesday, 20 January.
Taking place from 7.30pm, this event is particularly suitable for Transition Year and second-level students who are studying towards the Leaving Certificate and considering their options for further education or future career opportunities. The event may also be of interest to parents and teachers who are supporting these students.
A number of speakers from diverse departments and functions within St Patrick’s Mental Health Services (SPMHS) will speak at the event, explaining the work they do and giving insight into the various ways to enter their different fields. SPMHS staff working in the disciplines of pharmacy, psychology, nursing, social work, and psychiatry will take part.
Registration is free but essential. Links to join the event will be emailed in advance to those who register to attend.
To ensure consent and permissions, parents and teachers are asked to register on behalf of students aged under 18 who wish to attend.
If you have any queries about the event, please contact our WIMS Project Manager, Amanda McArdle, by emailing info@walkinmyshoes.ie. Please also let Amanda know if you have any accessibility requirements in attending this event.

About the organiser
Walk in My Shoes is the flagship awareness-raising and education campaign of St Patrick’s Mental Health Services. We work to promote positive mental health, to tackle mental health stigma and to change how people, particularly young people, think about mental health.
We offer free resources and information for young people and their parents and guardians or primary and secondary school teachers.
We also run short film competitions, school achievement awards, an annual #MindYourSelfie social media campaign, and week-long programmes of online activities and pop-up radio stations.
