#FEMPOWER - Feminist Conference & Activist Fair
Date and time
Description
#FEMPOWER will take place on Saturday, January 16th from 1pm in Tallaght Stadium Conference Centre, Dublin. Organised by Independent Senator Katherine Zappone, #FEMPOWER is an opportunity for women of all ages and backgrounds to come together to help tackle the most important issues affecting women in Ireland today.
The purpose of #FEMPOWER is to inspire real, positive change for women in our communities. At the conference, guests will hear from some of Ireland’s most prominent female speakers on topics ranging from education, leadership, and childcare to body image, consent and the eighth amendment. It will also act as a space for discussion and engagement with the panellists and with one another. Guests will be encouraged to share experiences and their thoughts on how we can move feminism forward in 2016. Informed by the insights of women from all spheres of life, #FEMPOWER seeks to offer new ideas, perspectives and solutions.
Following the discussion will be a feminist fair, where local and national organisations will have the chance to present their latest work, publications and sign up volunteers. A light lunch will be provided. Groups wishing to display at the fair can reserve a space below. There is no charge for groups to display, but booking is essential.
