The sixth edition of The Borris House Festival of Writing & Ideas takes place June 9th to 11th.
Each year we bring together writers, historians, journalists, broadcasters, photographers, war correspondents and musicians for a riveting weekend of dialogues and discussions. Over 60 speakers will descend on the idyllic agricultural village of Borris, County Carlow for a three-day gathering designed to inspire positive change. And a few hundred lucky people will come to hear them talk, will meet them and share time with them.
The first twenty of our invited guests have now been announced, and include novelists Sebastian Barry, Eimear McBride, Colm Toibin, Edmund White, Elske Rahill,John Boyne, Eileen Battersby,The Wire creator David Simon, historians Margaret MacMillan, Artemis Cooper and Lucy Hughes Hallett, and the inspiring minds of Michael Harding, Geoff Dyer, Angela Scanlon, Andy Middleton, Eithne Shortall, Fintan O'Toole, Olivia O'Leary, Garett Carr and the great ad-man John Hegarty.
Weekend and day tickets are currently on sale, and, no, we are not sure who will be coming on which day just yet, but most speakers 'stay the course' for the weekend.
The next twenty speaker's names will be released on 10th March.
