Description

This event will feature talk and discussion from academics and activists on reproductive justice, looking at how reproductive rights intersect with race, workers' rights, emerging technologies and women's agency over their own bodies.


SPEAKERS INCLUDE:

Eleanor Penny
Eleanor Penny is a writer, senior editor at Novara Media, online editor at Red Pepper, and writer in residence at Housmans Books

Helen Hester
Helen Hester is Associate Professor of Media and Communication at the University of West London. Her research interests include technofeminism, social reproduction, and post-work politics, and she is a member of the international feminist working group Laboria Cuboniks. Her books include Xenofeminism (Polity, 2018), and After Work: The Politics of Free Time (Verso, 2019, with Nick Srnicek)

Strike 4 Repeal
Strike 4 Repeal are a group of activists, academics, artists and trade unionists who called a nationwide social strike demanding a referendum on the 8th amendment of the Irish constitution prohibiting abortion on the 8th of March 2017.
