About this event
ReView, Exhibition and Gathering
The Glass Society of Ireland (GSOI) presented ReView – a unique, eco-conscious exhibition, part of our ‘sustainability’ themed programming for the International Year of Glass 2022.
The exhibition held in Huntingbrook Gardens Co Wicklow, in September 2022, used minimal resources and only natural light giving new perspectives to existing work through responsive installation.
Curated by Meadhbh McIlgorm, The 14 artists selected were: Alison Byrne, Clare Bowe, Donna Coogan, Emer O’Donnell, Eva Kelly, Gwyn Grace, Maresa Edwards, Marja Huhta, Michelle Ryan, Rachel McDonnell, Róisín de Buitléar, Sinead Brennan, Sophie Longwill and Suzanne O’Sullivan.
Review is the resulting film commissioned by GSOI, project managed and narrated by Meadhbh McIlgorm. Jenny Keogh of Standout Films created a 10 minute film of the event which tracks the event from morning to evening.
The premier will include an appearance with Jenny Keogh and Meadhbh McIlgorm
Following the film the latest edition of GLASS IRELAND will be launched. Glass Ireland is the annual publication of the Glass society of Ireland.
Glass Ireland is the definitive resource on glass in Ireland, presenting essays, reviews, interviews and short profiles of and by emerging makers and established practitioners. It provides a vital forum in which artists, together with curators and academics, can publish new research, thereby developing discourse and elevating the critique and discussion of contemporary glass. This publication also makes an important contribution to the literature on historical Irish glass.

Drinks and nibbles will be available in the Other Hand bar in the same venue afterwards where we can mingle and chat all things glass. We look forward to seeing you there.
