About this event
A Singer Songwriter, recording artist & IRMA Award nominee, Fiona has a very long track record which includes albums, EP’s & singles and many TV performances, including her own one hour TV special on RTE. Her latest single release ‘All Together Now’ launches soon and a new album, including some tracks produced by Christian Best (Mick Flannery) is due for release later this year. Her followers are growing fast with longtime music lovers being joined by many new fans of Kennedy’s distinctive voice & thoughtful, honest songwriting. A succession of new songs released over the past 18 months included ‘Where Else Would You Get It’, produced by Declan Sinnott (Mary Black/Christy Moore) & ‘The Place of my Resurrection’ (prod. Cormac O’Connor) both of which went straight to number one in the ITunes Chart.
Fiona worked with another Irish music industry heavyweight, guitarist Bill Shanley (Paul Brady/The Kinks) on her last album ‘The Beach’ which she recorded in 2017 after a hiatus that saw her concentrating on bringing up her 2 daughters after many years performing internationally and in Ireland. This album showcased the singers versatility and vocal range with superb performances of songs spanning the different genres of Blues, Folk and Country.
Throughout the 2020 lockdown, Fiona did a weekly livestream show , as part of The Quarantine Sessions Cork, and raised over 4000 Euro for Penny Dinners along with the other musicians involved. A live performance on the Today Show on RTE television in 2021 along with live shows both as a solo performer & with her band have firmly reassured her fans that Fiona is most definitely at a very creative & exciting time in her long career.
