About this event
The 2022 Waterford International Organ Festival will kick of with 'Fireworks from Aloft', a concert featuring solo works for organ performed by Laura Schlappa. Laura, who is currently studying church music at the University of Music in Detmold, won first prize at the Northern Ireland International Organ Competition in 2020. She has performed recitals at St Pauls Cathedral London, Westminster Abbey, Liverpool and Belfast cathedrals, St Thomas New York and Trinity College Cambridge. In 2018 she won first place in the intermediate competition of Northern Ireland International Organ Competition and in 2019 she won the London Organ Competition. Laura won first prize at the 2020 Northern Ireland International Organ Competition.
