Description

The National Symposium on Circularity in Construction is organised by TU Dublin as part of 'Drive 0', a new EU-funded, 4-year, research project that focuses on developing circular, deep renovation solutions for housing. ('Circular' refers to construction that has a low embodied carbon with a high recycled content, which can itself be demounted and re-used elsewhere.) The Drive 0 Team want to accelerate deep renovation processes throughout Europe by enhancing a consumer-centered circular renovation process in order to make deep renovation environmentally friendly, cost effective and more attractive for consumers and investors! See for more information https://www.drive0.eu

The National Symposium on Circularity in Construction will commence at 9am in St. Lawrence's, Grangegorman Campus, TU Dublin, on 3rd April. The event provides a unique opportunity for construction professionals, policymakers and other interested parties to listen to leading international experts explore the potential of circular construction in a series of talks.

After lunch site visits will take place to Dublin City Council's exemplary deep renovation of St. Bricín's Park social housing in Arbour Hill, and the Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun. The Centre is Ireland's National Centre for the Circular Economy housed in the re-imagined boiler house of Ballymun. Please join us to explore a new better way of building in Ireland!
