Castlelyons & Bridebridge Tidy Towns is teaming up with VOICE [Voice of Irish Concern for the Environment] to host a ‘food rescue’ evening to highlight food waste currently running at over one million tonnes of waste a year in Ireland. Attendees will learn ways to reduce food waste whilst savouring the culinary delights from chefs at the highly acclaimed Ballyvolane House.
7.00pm: Welcome drink in garden / barn
7.30pm: Screening of ‘Just Eat It’ (a film is about a couple who survived on nothing but discarded food for 6 months),
8.30pm: Two-course dinner in the dining terrace made from food that was heading for the bin. Wine, beer and non alcholic beverages are included with the dinner.
A pay-bar will be available after the dinner.
