FPAI & VISA - Connected Commerce and IoT
Event Information
Description
By the year 2020 conservative estimates predict the Internet of Things (IoT) will consist of more than 21 billion devices. The evolution of IOT is accelerating, and at the heart of fulfilling its promise lies the enablement of Connected Commerce.
Each device is a potential way to pay, but what will be the payment mechanisms used, and how will they be secured?
Visa and IBM are partnering to allow businesses to introduce secure payment experiences throughout the Internet of Things, making cars, appliances and many other connected devices potential points of sale. The collaboration brings together IBM’s Watson IoT platform, currently being used by more than 6,000 IBM clients with Visa’s global payments services, used by more than 3 billion consumers globally.
The FinTech Payments Association of Ireland (FPAI) - invites you to join Visa for a breakfast briefing where we explore the growth and evolution of Connected Commerce at the heart of IOT.
Hear from Jonathan Vaux, Exec. Director for Innovation & Partnerships with Visa, and Philip Konopik, Visa Country Manager, about this exciting IBM partnership and how it aims to monetise IoT.
Registration and breakfast opens at 8am with a start of 8:30.The event concludes at 10:30 after questions and networking.
