FRANKENSTEIN BOLTS

Friday 26th January, Doors Open 5.45pm for 6.15pm start (Standing Only)

Graphic Studio Gallery, Through the Arch, Cope Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2

Graphic Studio Gallery is delighted to announce an intimate gig, by the amazing Frankenstein Bolts, to coincide with Temple Bar’s Tradfest. A Dream-Pop/Folktronica duo from Wexford, Ireland. Frankenstein Bolts are Justin Cullen and Dan Comerford. The band take influence from a broad array of genres including the indie bands of the early 90s, and 80s synth-pop acts.

Since the band’s debut single ‘Up To The Root’ was released in February 2015, they’ve featured positively in Hot Press, and other publications, including multiple ‘Rising Acts’ articles. Brilliant live, they’ve played multiple festivals - including Main Stage at Castlepalooza, and the Body & Soul Main Stage at Electric Picnic - in the lead up to which they featured in Goldenplec’s ‘Top 15 To See’ list, and received a ‘Go’ listing from The Irish Times. They’ve also performed numerously at Dublin’s annual Hard Working Class Heroes festival. In early 2016 they released their EP ‘Cinematic Views’, and have opened for David Kitt, Tír na nÓg, Michele Stodart (The Magic Numbers) and Malojian.

The band's second album, titled 'Aglow & Spark', was released in August 2017. Released to glowing reviews, the first single taken from it, is the fleeting guitar pop number, 'Anatomic Major'. A busy summer ensued, with the band playing at Castlepalooza, Body & Soul at Electric Picnic, Hard Working Class Heroes Festival, as well touring their new album.

"Will there be a better, smoother radio-friendly album released by an Irish band this year?"

- TONY CLAYTON-LEA, THE IRISH TIMES

"Part alt folk part synth pop – all gorgeousness”

- GOLDENPLEC.COM

"soothing synths and a devotion to tender folk rock is the order of the day and Cullens captivating voice is the ace up the sleeve. Debut LP Slow Season was a bright quiet start to last year - dig it out now to impress your mates when everyone sits up and takes notice later"

- HOTPRESS HOT FOR 2015
