FRC Western Region LGBT Networks 10th Anniversary- National Event
The FRC Western Region LGBT Network is celebrating 10 years. This event marking Social Inclusion Week will celebrate the Network's existence as well as plan for it's future. The conference aims to highlight and share our work and examples of best practice to date, and to have an expert panel of speakers for a questions and answers session. 10.30am - Registration.
11.00am - Welcome and introduction to MC Karen Jonnson, outgoing
Chairperson of National Forum of Family Resource Centres
and co-ordinator of Quarryvale FRC, Dublin.
11.10am - Pre-recorded message from Senator David Norris.
11.15am - Keynote Speaker – Hayley Fox Roberts, co-ordinator, Brefini
FRC, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim.
11.30am - FRC Western Region LGBT Network – presentation looking
back on 10 years of work.
12.00pm - Bernadine Quinn, Dundalk Outcomers – presentation on
Domestic Violence within same sex relationships.
12.30pm - Lunch
1.30pm - Panel Discussion exploring contemporary LGBT themes,
including community activism, gender identity, parenting,
inclusion, domestic violence.
- Question and answer session.
2.15pm - Small Group discussion focusing on key themes emerging
from the conference, with feedback.
3.00pm - Evaluation and wrap up.
- Following the close of the Conference there is the opportunity to visit “Teach Solas”, the newly established LGBT Resource Centre in Galway.
