Event Details

Imagine if we could solve the world's problems at a local level at the same rate we solve technology problems at a global level? That is the purpose of "The Ladder" - learn Google Design Sprints, while solving real problems for local non-profits and communities. Join the fastest growing innovation community and the world's largest Google Design Sprint meet-up every Tuesday, Dublin 6:45pm to 9pm.

// What you will learn
(The workshop can be joined at any time, but you'll get the most out of it by attending all 6 weeks. If you can't attend see below for online and custom workshops)

There is only one real way to learn this skill - by doing - so you will solve a real problem with a local non-profit using skills you already have (and they need)  in a structure we provide through 'Sprint' over 6 weeks. I

You will learn how to define, ideate, prototype and test any idea using, the fastest and cheapest way possible. Validate your idea before spending significant money, time and resources using the most rigorous, proven - and innovative approach available today.

Not only will you be learning, you'll be contributing directly to a real local cause as well as helping The Ladder reach it's goal - getting nations to reach the global sustainable development goals by 2030 by scaling impact for local organisations.

We'll guide you along the way with a professional facilitator to ensure you can run your own design sprint a with tips on how you can incorporate these techniques in unique ways within your team and organization.

The outcome is that you will be a Design Sprint Practitioner- ready to try your own idea with a sprint as well as getting inside a real non-profit or charity and helping.

We also provide paid professional faciltator training to a very limited number of participants each Sprint Cycle. Check out the eventbrite page above.

What you get:
* Free CDST Training to be certification-ready
* The knowledge that you have helped a non-profit, community directly or indirectly
* Pre-requisites completed for CDSF - certified facilitator.

The Ladder

The Ladder is the fastest growing innovation community in Ireland and the largest Google Design Sprint meetup in the world.

Why are here?
We have a vision where communities level the the balance of economic, political and social power through direct action using tools and frameworks designed to solve local problems, test ideas and opportunities continuously, locally; scaling their impact with enough leverage to move the planet to reaching the UN Sustainability Development Goals and beyond.

How do you do this?

The Ladder creates volunteer-led 'Ladder Communities' globally where local issues that align with the SDGs are addressed in 6 week workshops  called Sprints. The Ladder assists with set-up, facilitator training and advocacy free of charge.

Our vision of 'enough leverage' is critical mass of 17,000 sprints by 2025.
This requires 425 ladder communities by 2020
this is our experiment.

Will it work?

We believe non-profits, communities and innovators can scale their impact using the same frameworks that technology companies use to scale globally.  The Ladder runs direct action workshops with these frameworks called 'Sprints; to target a specific problem or opportunity, ideate, develop solutions, prototype and test with real users.
This highly tested and structured approach can save months of effort working on the wrong problem or solution to give real usable data for a non-profit, community or innovator to impact at scale and help us reach the SDG goals by 2030.

How do you sustain yourself
