Mindful movement to soften tight muscles and bring your awareness to sensations in the body as a focus for the mind. Breathwork, relaxation.

About this event

Tucked away in the Dublin Mountains, on a quiet lane behind wooden gates you will enter a little haven of nature, peace and tranquillity. Mutton Lane Yoga Studio is a purpose-built studio with a stunning spacious deck. Completely separate from the houses sharing the property the studio has its own entrance, plenty of parking, a separate brand new spotlessly clean toilet and a small seating area.

Sylvia teaches yoga and meditation classes suitable for all levels. Every class is infused with mindfulness and appreciation of the beautiful surroundings. Emphasis on releasing tension in the physical body. Breath-work and relaxation to quieten the mind. Full refunds are offered if events need to be cancelled due to rain. Mutton Lane has an indoor studio, available once restrictions allow indoor classes.

Arriving around 6.50pm on Monday 20th September you make your way to the deck or the studio for some mindful movement to soften tight muscles and bring your awareness to sensations in the body as a focus for the mind. Sunset is 7.30pm. As darkness descends our attention will drop, dropping into the breath, into the body, into deeper awareness. The class will be varied to include movement, breath-awareness and periods of stillness. We’ll close with a deep guided relaxation and make our way back to life in candle light and torch light.

Outdoor yoga will run in Orlagh House, Rathfarnham on Wednesday mornings in August, yoga on Friday mornings in Mutton Lane Studio 10-11am. Sylvia has a range of online classes if you'd like to explore her style of teaching from home. sylviayoga.com. Saturday morning workshops and monthly meditation classes will run in Mutton Lane Studio this Autumn and Winter.

Organiser Sylvia Ferguson Yoga and Meditation Teacher

Organiser of Full Moon Meditation on an outdoor deck in the Dublin Mountains.

Sylvia Ferguson teaches yoga, meditation and mindfulness in Dublin and internationally. Yoga and meditation classes are clear and easy to follow, encouraging benefits long beyond the practice. Online classes are designed leave you feeling grounded, inspired, and calm.

A DCU and Yoga Therapy Ireland graduate, Sylvia is currently doing her Masters in UCD studying Mindfulness Based Interventions.

Sylvia is hosting a series of events this summer combining yoga and mindfulness in nature. One-hour classes and two-hour workshops are designed to stretch and soften the body while quieting the mind. The yoga is for mixed levels, every class includes some focused strengthening and posture work. Workshops include deep relaxation practices.

You'll find her in Mutton Lane Yoga Studio, Tibradden, Orlagh House, Rathfarnham and hopefully Marlay Park, Rathfarnham as restrictions ease. She also has an extensive library of online classes offering accessible yoga to all, for example her Daily Collection consists of five daily thirty minute practices for your daily dose of yoga and mindfulness.
