What a better way to celebrate International Day of Biodiversity by exploring one of our most loved species , the butterfly .

Colin Stanley will lead a walk exploring the habitats and species of butterflies in Merlin Park Woods . Galway Butterfly Project educates on the butterflies of Galway city and county , the importance of habitat conservation, foodplants needed for the survival of our butterflies and where they may be found in your local area.

The event will leave from the Merlin Woods Community Garden at 12 noon and will have a limited number of people in attendance to comply with Covid guidelines. All tickets will be have to be booked through eventbrite to attend . The event is organised by Friends of Merlin Woods as part of Biodiversityweek 2021.
