Event description
This 60-minute tour will start with a guided tour of the gardens at The Royal Hospital followed by a tour of the War Memorial Gardens

About this Event

The Royal Hospital was built in 1684 in the style of Les Invalides in Paris to house retired soldiers. Since 1994 it has been the home of the Irish Museum of Modern Art. Set in 48 acres, we will be visiting the formal gardens with Head Gardener Mary Condren. This is a visit for both gardeners and history buffs alike. There is a pop-up cafe and shop on site.

Each of these tours will take approximately 1hour. There will be half an hour for members to travel the short distance to the Irish National War Memorial Gardens for the second part of the tour. Please see here for more information on this part of the tour.

Travel: 10 mins walk from Heuston Station or use the Red Luas Line. Ample parking at the Royal Hospital. The small car park at the War Memorial Gardens can be accessed from the South Circular Road.

N.B. This is a members-only event. Each tour is limited to 12 people. If demand exceeds supply, another tour will be arranged at a later date. The wearing of face coverings is advised.
