Gaslight play directed by Gerry Ryan

About this event

Poor Bella is not well and she knows it. After all, her mother died in a lunatic asylum at the same age Bella is now. Her loving husband, Jack, is doing his best to look after her. Alas, all is not as it seems in the Manningham household…

This classic piece of theatre will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.

It was because of this play and the subsequent Oscar winning movie, that the term “Gaslighting” made its way into the Oxford English Dictionary, bearing the definition ~ “to psychologically manipulate someone into doubting their own sanity.“

Sligo Drama Circle’s original production of Gaslight was abruptly cut short by the onset of COVID-19 and left a lot of Sligo theatre-goers disappointed.

Directed by Gerry Ryan and starring a host of Sligo’s best known actors, this wonderfully tense evening of theatre is not to be missed.

All events or shows will be filmed or photographed. Buying a ticket affirms your consent to the filming, sound recording or photographing of yourself as a member of the audience. Photography and recordings are strictly forbidden without permission of the Listowel Writers' Week Literary Festival Management.
