Trainer Profile

Mary Seery Kearney, is a practicing barrister, specialising in Labour, Industrial Relations, Employment and Data Protection Law, Equality, Contract and Corporate Governance. Graduating from Trinity College Dublin and Kings Inns in law, psychology and philosophy; she is a legal advisor to a number of organisations and professional bodies, employers and special interest groups, as well as representing the interests of individuals.

Mary is a Director of The HR Brief Limited, a company she founded with her husband David, specialising in providing professional management consultancy services to companies in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Employment and Data Compliance. They have recently developed their services to provide GDPR Auditing and Compliance support and have developed a Data Protection Officer Service to companies for whom the appointment of a DPO is mandatory.

Mary is the former Academic Director of GMB College, and currently lectures extensively at third level in Law, Business, Corporate Governance, Compliance, Health, Safety and Welfare, Industrial Relations and most recently in particular in Data Protection Law. Mary has advised and written submissions for the Constitutional Convention as well as working as a Parliamentary Advisor to Government TDs.
