Adrian Weckler: Technology Editor, Irish Independent & The Sunday Independent
Adrian Weckler is Ireland's most recognised commentator on how technology is changing our professional lives. He has risen to become the country's most senior journalist in the sector. Adrian will be discussing the impact of new technologies on businesses and organisiations in the year ahead and beyond.
Lory Kehoe, Deloitte EMEA Blockchain Lab Lead, Director Strategy & Operations
Lory is Deloitte’s Europe Middle East and Africa Blockchain lab lead and has over 11 years consulting experience. More recently, he has led blockchain strategy projects, implemented blockchain technology in live production environments and delivered a number of blockchain pilots and PoCs. Lory is a keynote blockchain conference speaker, has presented at multiple global blockchain events, is the author of multiple blockchain articles and is regularly quoted in the Financial Times on the subject.
Dr. Bojan Božić, Researcher, Computer Science, DIT
Dr. Bojan Božić is a researcher in computer science at Dublin Institute of Technology and has worked on Semantic Web, Machine Learning, and Data Science technologies for 7 years. He was a software engineer in Speech Recognition at Philips Speech Recognition Systems, a Scientist at the Austrian Institute of Technology and a Lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland and University of Vienna. At Trinity College he worked on the ALIGNED project, modelling data and software engineering processes through ontologies and annotations for the Dacura platform. He joined CeADAR and DIT to commence research in Data Science.
Dominic Fahey, Chief Technology Officer, GeoDirectory DAC
Dominic is a qualified Systems Analyst who has worked in Ordnance Survey Ireland, An Post and GeoDirectory DAC. He also has qualifications in Cartography, GIS from University College Cork, Strategic Leadership from Institute of Leadership and Management London. He has worked as a Cartographer, database administrator, business and systems analyst along with other senior management and training roles. He has an in-depth understanding of data capture and how to ensure the data is accurate and fit for purpose. He has supported GeoDirectory in a sales and marketing capacity and is the current CTO of GeoDirectory DAC.
Stephen McLoughlin, GIS Analyst/ Officer, South Dublin County Council
Stephen is a qualified GIS and Data Analyst with 17 years’ experience working in the GI industry in both the public and private sector. Following a recently completed Master of Science in Data Analytics, Stephen developed his road collisions research and won the 2017 Esri Ireland ‘Maps Make Sense’ competition and the IRLOGI GIS Excellence award. As GIS Officer at South Dublin County Council (SDCC) and as certified Project Manager, Stephen focuses on delivering applications that add insight to support strategic decision making. A supporter of Open Data initiatives and Smart Cities, Stephen is also the Smart Dublin Technical Data Officer for SDCC.
Claire Byrne, Lead Spatial Analyst, Environmental Protection Agency
Claire is Lead Spatial Analyst in the Environmental Protection Agency. She has a background in geography, maths, GIS & remote sensing and 13 years’ experience experience in the GI industry. In her current role Claire develops automated spatial assessment tools to provide evidenced based assessments to inform key environmental questions. In a previous role as GIS Manager,EPA Claire was responsible for the maintenance and progression of spatial assessment, data and applications in the EPA. The Unified Web GIS Framework is one such application, which earned the 2017 Irlogi Space and Place award in the Excellence in Web Based Applications category. Claire is also a deployable volunteer with MapAction, a UK based humanitarian mapping charity.
The GeoDirectory Conference is a fantastic opportunity for networking and meeting old and new colleagues. This year there is an opportunity to have one-to-one meetings with a number of speakers from the Conference.
