Event description

Description

Coderdojo Wexford would like to invite all people in #Wexford:
parents, journalists, coders, teachers, librarians, gamers and anyone else interested to join Darren from CodeClub and Tara from CoderDojo to make coding and computer programming accessible to everyone!

If you are a parent, current mentor or champion, working in a business in Wexford and interested in getting involved, come along. Many companies all over the world are running Dojo's supporting their staff to share skills with young people as part of their #CSR programmes. The dojo environment also benefits team building within your company as your developers learn to work together on a different project and not only strengthens their relationship with each other but givesa higher purpose to what we all do!

The aim is to connect Wexford, support new people to get involved, and share all the amazing ideas you have.

We will also have some special guests to share some very interesting and up-and-coming ideas including Thomas Kunze, lecturer from Games Institute in Wien.

We will not have the traditional meetup treats - beer and pizza. Our event is sponsored by La Cuisine, so we expect to get some lovely bites!

Hope to see you on Saturday!

If you can spare 9 minutes of your life, learn from an MIT professor of learning research Mitch Resnick. He explains how and why it is important for EVERYONE to learn coding with Scratch. I highly recommend that you watch it, it shows us how best to teach and learn and demonstrates clearly why it is best practice.

The below video, in some cases might not work, the link to it is here:

Looking forward to meeting you all with great excitement! Lets #getWexfordCoding together!
