About this event
Join us for a walk past Girley Wood and around Girley Bog.
We will be meeting the Girley Bog Carpark at Drewstown Great at 11 am on Sunday the 15th of January 2023 (Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/u7dgPgMLkTnBqo7F9). There are two Girley Bog Carparks so make sure you go to the one at Drewstown Great.
Please carpool where possible! The car park is very small and is the limiting factor in how many people can attend.
We will go for a nice walk past the Native Woodland Trust Girley Wood and around the boardwalk that goes through Girley Bog. This will be a great opportunity to get out on a Sunday morning.
All ages are welcome but please note, we will be walking on uneven ground and along a boardwalk so this is not suitable for buggies.
What to bring:
- Warm and waterproof clothing
- Sturdy footwear
- Packed lunch, water, snacks
- Any medication you may need
When we return to our cars, will be providing tea, coffee and biscuits. If you have a reusable coffee/tea cup, please bring this along to minimize waste on the day.
There are no toilets on site. There is a toilet in the Top Oil Cloncat Service Station (Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/bJYEcFxF6psD1MmUA). However, we cannot guarantee that the toilet will be in working order. The town of Kells is also nearby.
PLEASE NOTE: Events may be cancelled on short notice if there are adverse weather conditions or weather warnings in place. In the event that we do cancel an event on short notice, we will send an email to inform you as early as possible.
