Event description
Irish Doctors for the Environment are attending the global climate strike on September 20th. Please see below for further details.

About this Event

Calling anyone concerned about climate breakdown! On the 20th September the global School Strikes For Climate movement, which has done so much do push the climate emergency to the top of government’s agenda’s across the globe, is going for their biggest one yet, this time a general strike. Millions of people will take to the streets all over the world to send the message to governments that we must listen to the scientists and take immediate action, in order to mitigate the catastrophic effects of climate breakdown, which a Lancet analysis has concluded ‘could undermine all of the last half century’s gains [in human health]’

Irish Doctors for the Environment will be at the march in Dublin, dressed in scrubs/white coats, and we would welcome as many people to join as possible! RTE’s flagship environmental program ‘Eco Eye’ have been in touch and will be interviewing us on the day for their episode on the strike, and many other news organisations will be present. So take a day of annual leave and come and join us for what will undoubtedly be an inspiring, moving and vitally important day. Families are welcome (some of the consultants attending have already said they will be bringing theirs), as are other healthcare professionals.

If you cannot attend the strike on the day , please show your support by signing this Uplift Letter https://my.uplift.ie/petitions/irish-clinicians-support-the-global-climate-strike

For those who must work we are arranging badges to display your support.
