Good Food for All
Event Information
About this Event
Do you want to have your voice heard? Then join us for an Independent Dialogue on February 23rd. Together we will seek out ways to improve and transform food systems so they are sustainable for people and planet. These recommendations will be compiled into a formal report which will be submitted to the Food System Summit.
The Food System Summit will launch bold new actions, solutions and strategies to deliver progress on all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), each of which relies on healthier, more sustainable and more equitable food systems. The Summit will awaken the world to the fact that we all must work together to transform the way the world produces, consumes and thinks about food. Everyone is invited to become a Food Systems Hero, spread the word about food systems transformation, or find another way to support the Summit process. The Summit is open to all, and it belongs to us all.
This Independent Dialogue will focus on Ireland’s role in sustainable food systems. It will look at how to increase the availability of nutritious food, making food more affordable and reducing inequities in access to food; how to eliminate wasteful patterns of food consumption; and how diets can transition towards more nutritious foods that require fewer resources to produce and transport.
Maurice Sadlier, Programme Director of World Vision Ireland, will moderate the evening, which will consist of a panel discussion with experts and followed by group discussions.
