Alex Ward, Curator of Textiles, National Museum of Ireland will present an illustrated talk on Irish fashion design in the 1950s and 1960s, a time when the international fashion press began to take an interest in Ireland. At the forefront of the industry were two talented women, Irene Gilbert and Sybil Connolly, whose clients included Princess Grace of Monaco and Jacqueline Kennedy.
