Description of hike: This is a wonderful hike bringing you off the beaten path and away from the touristy trails to explore the mountains off Kerry. The walk is littered with historical features such as burial cairns, megalithic tombs and of course Rogers Rock.
Your first view of the Pap's is a pair of magnificent mountains known in Irish as An Dá Chích Annan, the two breasts of Anu or Annan. Annan, the fertility goddess, was the principal deity of the Tuatha Dé D’Annan, the original inhabitants of Ireland. One each of the summits there are magnificent Cairns of bronze age or stone age origin.

Equipment required:
Rain gear, boots, back pack, water, lunch/food, warm drink, hat and gloves and extra warm clothes for when you stop.
In general temperature drops by 1 degree every 100metres in height we climb. Please bear this in mind when packing your gear for the days hike. Wind chill can make this colder again so please bring the gear listed above.
