A series of half-day workshops will commence this August hosted by the Department of Agriculture in partnership with IrBEA and the WFQA

About this Event

Presented by Pieter D. Kofman, senior consultant on wood for energy, a series of half day workshops are launched on producing quality wood fuels followed by a demonstration with members of the Wood Fuel Quality Assurance Scheme.

The workshops are aimed at anyone with an interest in wood for energy. It is particularly useful for farmers/forest owners, chipper and boiler manufacturers and suppliers, forest contractors, wood fuel suppliers, consultants etc. The half-day workshops will take place at 10am-2pm at the following venues:

First Workshop - Wood Chip

  • Tuesday 27th August 2019 - The Heritage, Killenard, Laois
  • Followed by site visit to Worrell Woodchip, Killenard, Co Laois

Workshops limited to 25 participants per venue, prior registration is essential.

This event will attract 15 Society of Irish Foresters CPD points

Information on the Wood Fuel Quality Assurance Scheme. Noel Gavigan Irish Bioenergy Association Executive will be discussing the following areas:

  • How are audits conducted?
  • What does it mean for me as a wood fuel producer?
  • Information on Biomass Boilers Designers and Installers Register
