Description
The seminar 'Healthcare Decision-Making and the Law' will take place on Thursday 5th December from 14.00 - 16.30. It will be held in the A&L Goodbody Appellate Court, Glucksman Library in the University of Limerick.
The event will explore clinical and legal issues in healthcare decision-making in Ireland. It will concentrate on concepts of capacity and consent, with special attention paid to the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015. The event will feature speakers from the Health Service Executive, the School of Medicine NUIG, and the School of Law University of Limerick.

The event will be of interest to solicitors, barristers, healthcare professionals, members of the public with an interest in the area, and organisations concerned with the rights of vulnerable adults and older people. The event is supported by the Irish Research Council New Foundations funding scheme.
