About this event
Hike to the summit of Sliabh Beagh
Standing at 373m above sea level, the highest point of Co. Monaghan certainly isn't one of the tallest peaks. It is, however, one of the most difficult to navigate to. As you approach the summit, the gravel track ends and the final 1.5k or so continues over open blanket bog.
Navigating to the highest point in each county in Ireland has become very popular in recent years. If you're doing Ireland's county peaks challenge, our guided hike is a great opportunity to complete this with a group of like-minded hiking enthusiasts.
This will be a guided looped walk incorporating:
- Highest point in Monaghan
- Highest point on Sliabh Beagh (Co Fermanagh)
- Three County Hollow (point where Monaghan, Fermanagh & Tyrone meet)
- Shane Bernagh Stables
