BACK TO BASICS..

The past year at Homebeat has largely been about trying bigger and different things for the most part - bigger venues, different atmospheres, different people even - but at the heart of all of this we haven't forgotten our roots - the humble, but very heartfelt house concert.

So we are really really delighted to return to the format which brought us all together in the first place with a very special intimate evening of music to launch Participant's new EP 'Content'.

As usual it's BYOB and BYOC(ushion).

Entry is by (Free) ticket, but attendees will be asked for a small donation towards the artist.

PARTICIPANT

Participant is the musical moniker of Stephen Tiernan, a Dublin based musician. Having begun as a way to stave off boredom between other music projects, Participant quickly became Tiernan’s primary focus, culminating in the release of his debut EP Bit Slow in September of last year.

Experimenting with recycling and re-purposing musical material, Tiernan exclusively sampled from his past recordings, demos, and projects to create a library of sounds and textures within which to nestle his sincere and heartfelt songs. Participant’s approach and attention to detail results in songs that feel layered and intricate yet still retain a sense of space.

Participant's follow up EP, Content (released November 17th) expands upon the themes broached on Bit Slow whilst also pushing into new territories. Feelings of procrastination, frustration and fear weave there way through Content yet give way to moments of beauty, hope and self-realisation.
