Description

Honeypot's fourth tech talk, co-hosted by OptioPay, will focus on the topic of security management for microservices. The evening will feature one of Berlin's premier Security experts, Peter Mountain, who will talk about Securing REST Microservice Endpoints.

7.20pm: Lightening talk from OptioPay "Wireless Hacking 101"

Mehdi Asgari, Secuirty Engineer at OptioPay and Malik Bougacha, Site Reliability Engineer at OptioPay

Mehdi and Malik will introduce the world of software defined radios and their impact on the security. "We will talk SDRs, what are the required hardware and software and methods that are used to attack wireless systems (and we're not talking about WiFi, we're talking about all sorts of wire-less systems: NFC, RFID, car keyfobs, IoT devices, phones, pacemakers, etc). We will show and review the concepts, tools and the possible methods of breaking into the wireless signals (and how we may secure them or mitigate the attacks)."

7.40pm: "Securing REST Microservice Endpoints"

Peter Mountain, Principal Security Architect at Zalando.

At Zalando, Peter is implementing an extremely large, highly secure AWS based "Data Lake" using a sorted, distributed key/value store that is robust and scalable, and a high performance data storage/retrieval system. Full cell level encryption and importantly, uses Attribute Based Access Control for fine grained authorisation. Prior to Zalando, Peter was was Managing Partner of a Cloud Security Consultancy, Principal Cyber Security Analyst at PayPal and he worked at American Express.
