Join us for this online event where we will be discussing how remote work can create more inclusive workplaces for people with autism.
About this event
Widening access to remote working has the potential to increase access to employment for people with disabilities, particularly for autistic individuals who might otherwise be excluded from the labour market.
Whilst many within the autistic community want to work, the cumulative sensory impact of navigating the daily work commute, working at an open plan office or other bustling workplaces, and having to ‘mask’ make the prospect of actively searching and holding down work an onerous one.
In this session we will be joined by Debbie Merrigan, from AsIAm - Ireland's national autistic charity. Debbie will share her expertise on the potential benefits of remote working for autistic people, outline some of the challenges, and provide employers with advice on how to build fully inclusive workplaces in a remote and hybrid setting.
