Event description

Description

This lecture by Dr Mary Bourke of the Department of Geography, Trinity College Dublin, will explore how extreme environments on Earth help us understand Mars and other terrestrial bodies in our solar system. Dr Bourke is one of the curators of the LIFE AT THE EDGES exhibition that will be running in the Science Gallery over the Alumni Weekend.

Dr. Mary Bourke is director of the Earth and Planetary Surface Processes Group and professor at Department of Geography in Trinity College Dublin. Her research interests lie in the area of extremes and her goal is to better understand geomorphic processes in extreme environments (deserts on Earth and on Mars) and during extreme events (floods, mass wasting).
