She has gained experience from Hackathons from before both as a participant and as an organizer. She believes Hackathons is a great way to gather like-minded people and together find innovative holistic solutions to real-world business problems, both from a company perspective and consumer point of view. She is exited to share her experiences.
Dr. Ferdinand Walther, Manager Technology, Innovation & New Business Models, loves improving our daily jobs to be done with new technology. He combines deep technology understanding as a physicist, cocreation in interdisciplinary and crossfunctional teams, creativity and out-of-the-box thinking in the last 30 years.
In 1988, he supported the digital transformation of the medical practice of his father. Since from that time onwards, he continuously improved his skills supporting early adaptors and extreme users utilizing the newest IT hard- & software. As a research scientist at the Max-Planck-Institute for Biochemistry, he connected brain cells with semiconductor chips in order to create an interface between neurobiology and computers. He completed his PhD at the Ludwig-Maximillian-University of Munich in the field of artificial Nanobiosystems. Afterwards, he started his career in industry at BMW as a project manager for a new generation of hydrogen and fuel cell vehicles.
He invented several new solutions and business models for lighting in Smart Cities and Buildings, piloting new innovation methodologies like Design Thinking at OSRAM.
Several Hackathons have been organized by Ferdinand like the OSRAM-Challenge at Techfest 2017 and for Oerlikon in 2019.
Most recently he is continuing education as an agile business coach, supporting digital transformation and cultural change in SME."
Belen Romero is passionate about sustainability and ways to create opportunities, promote partnerships and cultivate awareness to create positive impact in our PPP – System (People, Planet and Profit)-
She is a Consultant in Sustainability and Energy, bringing background in the field of engineering and facilitation. She has 10+ years experience helping organizations to identify value-led opportunities to improve their sustainability performance by advising the executive board on ESG, company sustainability activities and strategic action plans, by monitoring and reporting on sustainability indicators, investments and risks, as well as by being a competent contact person for all the business structure.
Her expertise on Sustainability Consultancy, as well as her curiosity about alternative economies (such as social entrepreneurship and conscious capitalism) has led her to meet like-minded people, with whom she could immerse herself in an intense collaboration process at the HACKATHON Challenge in Spain around the theme "Impact solutions for the Covid pandemic crisis" in April 2020. A true example of virtual teamwork and fruitful international collaboration combining diverse professional expertises on the parameterization & digitalization of a new strategic investment system for sustainable development at Pandemic Crisis.
Monika Rührup (Future Optimist and Digital Immigrant) has a passion for new ideas, digital innovation and diversity. She is convinced that we are currently at a turning point due to the possibilities of digital technologies, which we should all actively help to shape. We need to drive the digital transformation forward to create a better and more equal future. Monika loves the 3 N: #networking #neverstoplearning #nature. As she wants to enhance diversity in our society.
Monika is a Digital Transformation Manager and develops ideas for new business models, supports digitalization offensives and transformation projects. She wants to inspire all digital immigrants to start their own expedition into the digital jungle. As Senior Expert she has worked in start-up companies, SMEs and as a self-employed entrepreneur. For the last 21 years she worked for the Allianz Germany AG in various positions - as a Corporate Design Manager, a Marketing Expert, Product Developer and Innovation Driver. After that she spent another 18 months at the first Academy for Digital Transformation to get a deep understanding of Digital Transformation and to pass it on to others.
