Adult education providers and community education organisations have to reach out to funders and potential learners to ensure that their work remains sustainable. However, they often need assistance with the skills to do this effectively.

This FREE introductory workshop will show you how to effectively promote your work to funders and potential learners by using proven techniques and cost-effective tools and resources. The workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Strategic Communications: learn about how to plan and coordinate your communications for maximum impact

  • Social Media: unlock the power of social networks like Facebook and Twitter to promote your work to your target audiences

  • Media Relations: learn how to secure free publicity in the print and broadcast media

  • Email Marketing: discover why email is still one of the most efficient and cost-effective ways of getting your message across.

These training opportunities are provided by EPALE Ireland in responce to our members expressed needs however you do not need to be a member of EPALE to attend. We aim to assist anyone working in the world of adult education through these workshops

About the faciliator Gert Ackermann

Gert Ackermann had studied Political Science and Journalism and now works as a trainer. Previous to this he worked in journalism, talk radio and book publishing.

Gert is responsible for The Wheel's communications strategy and publications and he is the editor of the sector magazine, Be the Change. He also works as a freelance publicist and consultant in the community & voluntary and publishing sectors.
