Human Rights In Childbirth Workshop
Event Information
Description
Midwives for Choice is pleased to offer midwives this workshop on Human Rights in Maternity Care. Based on an NHS-sanctioned model developed in the UK by Elizabeth Prochaska, Birthrights founder and internationally renowned human rights lawyer, there will be two workshops in Dublin and one in Cork.
Our training and education programme aims to empower midwives to directly improve care for women and families, change practice, address inequalities at the front line and strengthen the case for the use of human rights in maternity care.
The workshops will give you a grounding in human-rights principles, covering the essential elements of respectful care, dignity principles, informed consent, non-discrimination and key legal decisions, using case studies and practical examples that you are likely to encounter in your day-to- day practice.
Placed limited, early booking advised. Please let us know if you can no longer make it so we can offer tickets to those on the waiting list.
