Description

An Introduction to Applied Hybrid Training Methodology: Understanding and Programming Concurrent Strength and Endurance Training

The course material is targeted towards both coaches and athletes, designed to give them the knowledge to train and function as a hybrid athlete. This, includes physiology, nutrition, biomechanics, special considerations (psychological and physical) of crossover athletes, and special attention paid to sports that are hybrid in nature.

Day 1:

9:00am-9:30am - Introduction to Hybrid Training
9:30-10:30am - Cardiopulmonary and musculoskeletal adaptations: resistance training versus endurance/conditioning, essential principles of recovery
10:30am-10:45am - Break
10:45-12:00pm - Sport Psychology overview, video conference with CHP sports psych
12:00-1:00pm - Lunch
1:00-2:15pm - Managing concurrent training recovery
2:15-2:30pm - Break
2:30-3:30pm - Nutrition for the athlete, including game day nutrition, carb loading, and hydration
3:30-4:00pm - Supplementation for the multi-sport athlete
4:00-4:30pm - Q&A

Day 2:

9:00am-9:30am - Welcome back!
9:30-10:30am - Endurance training for the strength athlete
10:30am-10:45am - Break
10:45-11:15am - Teaching the run, including gait analysis and injury prevention
11:15am-12:00pm - Practical demonstrations of athlete structure and tailoring movements/lifts
12:00-1:00pm - Lunch
1:00-2:15pm - Strength training for the endurance athlete - biomechanics and psychological considerations
2:15-2:30pm - Break
2:30-3:30pm - Metabolic conditioning and developing multi-sport programming.
3:30-5:00pm - Sample Programming and Programming For Your Athletes
