The pandemic has provided an incentive for business to consider how to better engage with clients and consumers using digital technology and to fast-track adoption of digital communication as a core function.
Guest presenters for this Digital Reboot Webinar series are thought leaders and industry experts who will share research and analysis to assist in identifying new opportunities and to prepare the digital advertising industry to address the challenges.
Our first Digital Reboot takes place on Wednesday October 7th at 2pm
As we approach year end and plan for 2021, guest presenter Dr Daniel Knapp, Economist and Media/Advertising Analyst will examine the impact of Covid-19 on the digital advertising industry. He will share the key economic trends, from a European and local perspective. He will identify what we have learnt and the phenomenon of Opportunistic Marketing. Daniel will discuss the business opportunity of the pandemic, how it has led to organisations working in a leaner and more agile way and has fast tracked the development of partnerships and innovations.
Following the presentation, Adrian Weckler, Technology Editor, Irish Independent and Sunday Independent will explore the insights and learnings shared and address other relevant industry themes in a fireside discussion with Daniel. Attendee questions are also welcomed.
SPEAKER BIOGS:
Dr Daniel Knapp, CSO, Twins Digital, Partner, Ecuiti, Chief Economist, IAB Europe
Dr. Daniel Knapp is an advertising and media analyst with more than 15 years of international experience. He has a unique understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem on a global and local EU basis. Daniel has a passion for uncovering key business and user trends and data to assist the media/advertising industry to unlock the potential of digital advertising.
Daniel has served in leadership roles spanning market analysis, strategic advisory, and business intelligence. Daniel spent 11 years at IHS Markit, latterly as Executive Director for Technology, Media and Telecoms. He was also an associated expert on media and AI at the European Commission. Daniel received his PhD from the London School of Economics (LSE) on the sociology of algorithms and the datafication of media. Daniel is Chief Economist at IAB Europe. In addition to his role at IAB Europe, he is CSO at Twins Digital, a marketing services company, and partner at Ecuiti a data science firm. Daniel also lectures on Big Data & Advanced Analytics at the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School for their MSC in Digital Marketing programme.
Adrian Weckler, Technology Editor, Irish Independent & Sunday Independent
Adrian Weckler is the Technology Editor of both the Irish Independent and the Sunday Independent. He is the current holder of two Smurfit Business Journalism awards, the first journalist ever to win two in a single year.
