Event description
A Joint Democracy and Elections and Comparative Public Policy and Institutions Early Career Researcher Conference

About this Event

We are witnessing a changing political landscape across Europe. Uneven economic development, the growth of sub-state independence movements and feminist protests undermine the established mainstream consensus in European politics. From Brexit to the rise of populism, the refugee crisis and climate change, Europe faces new and increasingly volatile challenges.

In the wake of the European elections, the aim of this conference is to provide researchers with a forum to reflect on these challenges and their effects on the people and politics of Europe.

We are excited to host Professor Maria Sobolewska (University of Manchester) as keynote speaker. Prof. Sobolewska works on the political integration and representation of ethnic minorities in Britain and in a comparative perspective, public perceptions of ethnicity, immigrants and integration.

  • 10:00- Panel one: Voting Behaviour and Identity
  • 11:30- Prof. Maria Sobolewska (Keynote speaker)
