Thirty years after the Gleeson Commission Report, the Commission on Defence provided for in the Programme for Government June 2020 will shape the Defence Forces for a generation to come.

The panel will discuss the issues that are to be covered by the Commission, its Terms of Reference, the composition of the Commission and governance structures required to ensure that its proposals are implemented.
